Ugandan music sensation Dexter Rapper has set tongues wagging after boldly claiming that while Kenyan women are undeniably beautiful, they just don’t match up to their Ugandan counterparts when it comes to one particular physical feature — the waistline.
The fast-rising star, who shot to viral fame for his electric waist-whining performances alongside his father, didn’t hold back during a cheeky chat with Kenyan content creator President Law shortly after landing in Nairobi.
“Kenyan girls are stunning, don’t get me wrong,” Dexter gushed. “But they don’t have the kind of fine waistlines that Ugandan women have. Our girls eat less, keep in shape, and the waist — oh, it’s perfect. Here, I’ve seen some girls with bellies… I don’t understand where they come from!”
The bold remark instantly sparked a flurry of reactions online, with some social media users defending Kenyan curves as “natural and wholesome”, while others laughed off the comment as typical East African banter.
Dexter, however, insisted there was no shade intended.
“I love Kenyan women too. You’re beautiful — just different,” he clarified, adding that he’s been overwhelmed by the warmth and hospitality he’s received since arriving in the country.
The flamboyant rapper became a household name across East Africa after a video of him gyrating on stage with his father at a Ugandan club broke the internet. Fans couldn’t get enough of the duo’s synchronised waist-whining moves, turning Dexter into one of the most booked acts in the region almost overnight.

Before touching down in Nairobi, the star had made stops in Tanzania, performing to adoring fans. But it’s in Kenya, he says, where the love hit differently.
“You guys have done the challenge, you pushed it. Uganda loves Nairobi!” he said, expressing gratitude for Kenyans who helped catapult his dance trend to regional fame.
During the interview, Dexter also name-dropped his favourite Kenyan artists — Mejja and Khaligraph Jones — praising Mejja’s cheeky lyrics and Khaligraph’s lyrical swagger.
“He said he can unhook a bra with one hand — that line? Classic!” Dexter said, chuckling.
Whether you agree with Dexter’s waistline assessment or not, one thing’s for sure — the Ugandan star knows how to keep people talking.
