Demonstrations erupted earlier today in Mathare 4A over political difference in the Utalii Ward MCA(Members of the County Assembly ) seat. Reportedly residents of Utalii Ward don’t want anything to do with the incumbent Utalii ward MCA, Wilson Ochola and instead wants Abel Atito for the seat.
Apparently the cause of the demonstration came about after it was heard on the grapevine that Wilson Ochola was given the nomination certificate to vie for the MCA seat when Abel Atito already won the nominations and given certificate to vie for the seat by the IEBC.
Residents of the Utalii Ward were heard chanting “No Atito, No Peace” while they went on a spree of destroying properties and causing businesses to close.
