David Adeleke popularly known as Davido has for the first time opened up about his smoking habit.
Davido in an interview with Nigerian blogger Tayo Aina said that he uses cannabis despite the drug being banned in Nigeria.
The singer explained that he uses cannabis to help him reduce stress.
He claimed that the drug helps him calm down after everyday challenges.
“I smoke marijuana, just to calm down, it takes a long time to calm down and my body often reminds me that I’m tired before I can rest,” Davido said.
Davido was years ago criticized by his fans after posting a video of himself smoking marijuana two days after attending a service at the Redeemed Christian Church in Lagos.
In this same interview, he added that his wife Chioma ignored him when they met for the first time.
When Davido was asked what he would be doing if not singing, he said that he would be a comedian because he felt very funny.
“I would be a comedian because I am very funny, even when I was at school I used to make my classmates laugh a lot and that enabled me to be a person of the people now with my music,” he said.
