Danny Masterson has been put under round-the-clock surveillance in prison shortly after he was sentenced to 30 years for rape.

The actor is currently being held at the Los Angeles County Sheriff Men’s Central Jail as he awaits transfer to a California state prison, where he will serve his full sentence.

TMZ reported that prison warders check on the disgraced actor every 30 minutes to check on him ‘with the goal of keeping tabs on his mental state and making sure he’s safe’.

Authorities said Masterson would be transferred to a mental health exam if he shows any sign of distress.

The 47-year-old actor was found guilty in May for two rapes committed in 2003 and was sentenced Thursday, September 7, 2023.

The jury was hung on a third rape charge, prosecutors have said that they will not push further for a conviction.

Masterson’s lawyer Shawn Holley has however not given up on the fight to free his client, insisting that the actor’s conviction is ‘not supported by evidence.’

Holley said that her team was confident that Masterson’s conviction would be overturned on appeal.
