Jamsta captured the attention of all netizens on social media after he shared a video of himself performing his rendition of D-Major’s ‘Girl of my Dreams’ that went viral.

Thanks to the virality of the clip that he shared, it got the attention of the original composer of the song, Jamaican D-Major real name Damian Codlin who also shared the same clip of Jamsta performing his song online.

Apparently, Jamsta has already landed himself a contract with a veteran record producer in Kenya, Tim Rimbui better known as “Ennovator” who is more than ready and willing to see him secure himself a lucrative career and working with him on a project/s.

Tim Rimbui is a Kenyan record producer, sound engineer, and songwriter who has worked with many prominent Kenyan and East African artists. He is generally thought of as one of the leading music producers in Kenya.

“Brathe. Look for me we record something,” Tim Rimbui said on Twitter acknowledging that indeed Jamsta has true, genuine talent, “your great voice can open some doors and secure you a bag. Nitafute.”

Since Jamsta’s clip went viral, numerous blogs and publications has taken keen attention on him because he took his time off from his mjengo(construction) work to perform for people online with no hope of reaching so many people so far.

“When I recorded the video I was doing it for the sheer joy of it. The chances will come,” he told Kenyans on an exclusive interview with them.

“This is why I do what I do,” D-Major shared on Instagram story using a universal hashtag as well, he also shared a photo of Jamsta.

“Construction work is one of many things I’ve been doing. I’ve taken on other jobs in movie shops and even as a matatu tout among others,” he disclosed speaking with Kenyans.

“I’ve always loved music, even when I was young I remember going through the song lyrics they used to publish in the newspaper. So I can say I was passionate.” he continued.

“But it wasn’t until 2010 when I was in high school that one day I woke up at 3 am and started singing. I realized that day that my voice sounded different,

I recorded a song but I never even got it because some weeks later the studio where I recorded was attacked and various items were stolen,” Jamsta stated.

I am a Pan-Afrikanist to the core and love to let the world know what they are missing in Africa. I might do that through music and some interesting posts from time to time so please bare with me.

I will always be real though, that's a guarantee.
