Court orders Kiza Lounge closed two months after owner Ali Oumarou was deported

Nairobi’s illest entertainment joint Kiza Lounge has been ordered to shut down its operation barely two months after the owner Ali Oumarou was deported from Kenya.

The Interior Ministry deported Oumarou from Kenya in September 2019 after intelligence reports alleged that he is a leader of an international criminal gang.

Environment and Lands Court on Monday October 28th  ordered the closure of Kiza Lounge and three other popular nightclubs; B-Club, Space Lounge and Explorers Tavern.

Justice Loise Komingoi gave the orders after Kilimani area residents filed a complaint with the court over noise violations by the four nightclubs.

Kilimani Project Foundation filed the case in at the court claiming that the noise emanating from the clubs premises is loud, amounting to offensive of interference with their comfort, health and safety.

Justice Komingoi further directed that Nairobi County administration should revoke the liquor licenses for the four entertainment joints.
