CORD co-principal Kalonzo Musyoka has confirmed that he will lead other leaders from the Ukambani region in developmental talks with President Uhuru Kenyatta.

President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Ukambani tour has been postponed to next month,State house has said.The new dates were announced after a consultative meeting between the president and Ukambani MPs on Wednesday morning.

President Uhuru Kenyatta and the leaders agreed on June 10 to June 13, 2016 as the new dates for the visit.
Manoah Esipisu, the Statehouse spokesperson, said the delegation of 12 legislators from the region agreed that the visit be pushed to next month.
Esipisu, in a statement, said: “President Uhuru Kenyatta will proceed to the region on a three-day tour where he would steer a development agenda for Ukambani”.
“The leaders acknowledged the extraordinary circumstances that led to the postponement of the visit. They were delighted that it had allowed them more time to prepare and to ensure that all projects to be commissioned are ready,” reads the statement.
The Kitui itinerary will include an Interdenominational church service.Apart from development agendas, Esipisu said the president looks forward to meeting and interacting with the citizens from the lower eastern region.
