Magistrate Gladys Kamasanyu sentenced the controversial activist to 18 months in prison. She said that Nyanzi’s post should never have been put in the public domain, describing it as obscene and indecent, further stating that the post could only be made by an immoral person.
Dr. Nyanzi attended the Friday sentencing via video link against her will. She only appeared in court on a television screen from Luzira Prison where she is being held.
