Cristiano Ronaldo and Conor Mcgregor had some friendly banter going on from last year. Apparently the two megastars had an exchange that went like this, Mcgregor talking,” You [Ronaldo] were number one on the Forbes list, I was like number 35 or something. I’ll get up. Maybe next year i’ll get you,”
To which Ronaldo replied, ” I don’t think so.” Short, succinct and probably declared with this braggadocious scowl.
After the Mayweather Mcgregor fight his boast is no more empty air but a thing of fact. Forbes estimates that he made an estimated 100 million dollars on the fight. This includes salaries, bonuses and endorsements, which include sponsorship’s and appearance fees. Who is smiling now? Hmm? Ronaldo? I kid, I kid.
Ronaldo is said to have a made an estimated 93 million dollars. For these wealthy athletes the difference of 7 million dollars may seem like pocket-change but it is a source of pride for them to be at the top of the money list when Forbes remove their list.
But this is still peanuts compared to Mcgregors opponent the one, the only, Money Mayweather. he earned a reported 300 million dollars from the fight!
Oh why didn’t my father give me boxing gloves when I was younger? Now I would be sleeping with stacks of money. I dream, I dream! Forgive me for having ideas of grandeur. But the amounts this guys are making blows the mind. What do you think? 30 minutes of your life for 10 billion shillings. Where have we missed the trick?
