Lawyer Cliff Ombeta on Saturday February 13th shocked his fans on social media when he announced that he had suffered a heart attack.
The popular criminal defense lawyer shared a photo of him recuperating at Nairobi hospital, with several tubes inserted in his body.
Ombeta expressed shock on being told that he suffered a heart attack. Taking to Twitter, the lawyer said he doesn’t understand how he suffered a heart attack when he is physically fit.
“Got an attack. Reason: CHOLESTEROL. CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT?” Ombeta wrote.

Ombeta is a gym enthusiast, he doesn’t understand why he had cholesterol buildup which caused the heart attack.
Cholesterol is a waxy substance found in the blood. High cholesterol can lead to the development of fatty deposits in the blood vessels which eventually expand and hamper blood flow in the arteries.
A heart attack occurs when the flow of blood to the heart is blocked. The blockage is most often a buildup of fat, cholesterol and other substances, which form a plaque in the arteries that feed the heart (coronary arteries).
The deposits can form a clot that causes a heart attack or stroke. According to medical reports, high cholesterol can be inherited or emerge as a result of an unhealthy lifestyle.
It’s also important to note that nearly half of all heart attacks occur in people with “normal” cholesterol levels.
Before suffering the heart attack, Ombeta had shared his weight loss journey where he lost almost 10 kilograms following an intense training program he started in 2020.
