Citizen TV set to retrench employees as the company restructures

Several employees at the broadcasting unit of Royal Media Services,a company that owns Citizen TV are staring at a possible retrenchment as the company announced a major shake up today.

In an early morning internal memo,the company managing director Wachira Waruru said the  biggest Kenyan media entity is left with nothing but to reorganize it’s operations which includes rationalization of it’s departments.

The memo continues to add that the exercise will be conducted within the precinct of the law. He however maintained those who are affected will be given upper hand should the need arises in future.

The number of those to be affected is not yet established.

In June this year,several Nation Media Group employees were retrenched following the company decision to shut down two of its radio stations.
