Chris Brown was forced to take to Instagram to address a Brazilian man who has been impersonating him online, especially on Instagram
The user, known as Tigomgl, has dedicated his page to showcasing his uncanny resemblance to the R&B singer.
In a heated comment, Brown expressed his frustration: “It’s lame as fuck impersonating me.. you look like you missing a chromosome. BE YOU MY N-GGA… YOU COULD NEVER BE ME! SO STOP IT BEFORE I SLAP DA SHIT OUT YOU.”
The impersonator, whose real name is Tigo Fariah, has posted various comedy videos and photoshoots.
While most of his content is unrelated to Chris Brown, some posts mimic Brown’s recent concert mishaps and album covers.
One video parodies an incident where Brown was suspended in the air during a performance, and another photo seemingly draws inspiration from Brown’s “X” album cover.
This isn’t the first time a Chris Brown doppelgänger has made headlines. In 2022, rapper Fabolous encountered a man in Croatia who bore a striking resemblance to Brown.
The man, with similar tattoos and clothing style, even performed dance moves reminiscent of the singer, leading Fabolous to caption his Instagram Story: “Am I high or this Chris Brown? Yea that’s Breezy…I knew I wasn’t crazy. Croatian Chris Brown got it…Cro Breezy with the dance moves.”
Brown’s public call-out of Fariah highlights the ongoing issue of celebrity impersonation and the boundaries of fandom and identity.
