Chimano, a former member of the acclaimed Kenyan music group Sauti Sol, has officially announced his return to the music scene after several months of silence following the band’s disbandment.

Known for his bold stances, particularly regarding LGBTQ issues, Chimano expressed his excitement about embarking on a new musical journey.

In a heartfelt statement, he reflected on his 37 years of life experience, sharing the lessons he has learned along the way.

“My previous chapter defined me and filled me up, but as a chapter read, we are done reading it and it is time to turn a new page,” he stated, emphasizing his readiness to share his voice again.

Chimano expressed deep gratitude for his time with Sauti Sol, declaring it one of the most significant opportunities of his life.

“Being a part of @sautisol was the greatest opportunity of my life. Now, I’ve started this amazing journey that I’m looking forward to,” he said.

His upcoming single, titled “Do You Remember,” marks the beginning of this new phase in his career, with plans for several more releases throughout the year.

“Let’s go, my new journey begins… With chimandem, we can now build a community—make it, thrive, and raise it on our own terms,” he added.

As he gears up for his solo debut, Chimano encourages fans to join him on this new adventure.

He has set August 9, 2024, as a key date for his first release and hinted at a series of works to follow.

With a fresh start as an individual artist, Chimano is ready to redefine his musical path and connect with fans in new ways.

Sauti Sol, which enjoyed a successful run for nearly two decades, announced its disbandment in November 2023, bringing an end to an era for the popular group.

As Chimano steps into the spotlight, fans are eager to see how he will evolve as a solo artist.
