Chemutai Sage opened up about something not so many people knew about her personally.
Chemutai Sage almost took her own life and nobody, absolutely nobody actually knew about it, even the people close to her didn’t know that she was contemplating suicide.
In remembrance and honor of World Suicide Prevention Day 2020 that was on Thursday, 10 September, Chemutai Sage opened up like never before about almost taking her life and even shared the actual photo that she took days after she wrote her suicide note.
Chemutai didn’t share what pushed her into contemplating suicide in the first place, but she promised that she will eventually share all the nitty-gritty details and even the actual suicide note that she was to leave behind.
“The details of the suicide note and attempted suicide, I’ll share another time.” Chemutai Sage promised.
Sharing the photo that she took when she was all smiles, Sage opened up about what she has been bottling up for the past years that nobody knew about her.
“This[the photo below] photo of me was taken a couple of days after I wrote a suicide note. I was still highly suicidal (for the first time in more than a decade).” Chemutai said.
Chemutai Sage also disclosed that the person who took the photo didn’t even know that she was contemplating suicide.
“The guy who took the photo had no idea. We had just had a wonderful breakfast and catch up.” she went.
“Today is #worldsuicidepreventionday and this photo is just a reminder that, ‘wanting to kill yourself’ doesn’t have a “look”. However, there are signs.”

Chemutai Sage is the first mainstream celebrity who has come publicly to say that she was actually contemplating suicide proving that not everybody putting up a smile is happy with what’s going on in their life.
Always taking care of the people around you and talking with them freely and being a crying shoulder that they can lean on can go a long way than you’d imagine.
Chemutai Sage has reiterated that she’s now fine and knows how it feels when you are suicidal, she even shared some information about how people contemplating suicide could be helped.
