Chadwick Boseman who played a lot of black icons prior to his death and landing a major role that changed his life and the entire black community has passed away.
Chadwick Boseman who played T’Challa on the super successful Black Panther in the Marvel cinematic universe died this past Friday surrounded with his wife, family by his side at his Los Angeles home. He was 43 years old.
Chadwick who played Lupita Nyong’o’s boyfriend in Black Panther movie was fighting colon cancer for the past four years and he sadly succumbed to it.
“It was the honor of his career to bring King T’Challa to life in Black Panther.
His publicist, Nicki Fioravante confirmed the passing of the legendary actor by telling the Associated Press news agency.
“It is with immeasurable grief that we confirm the passing of Chadwick Boseman.” an official statement from his family read in part. “Chadwick was diagnosed with stage III colon cancer in 2016, and battled with it these last 4 years as it progressed to stage IV.”
Chadwick will be remembered for bringing King T’Challa to life and many other black icons to the big screens as well.
“A true fighter, Chadwick persevered through it all and brought you many of the films you have come to love so much.
From Marshall to Da 5 Bloods, August Wilson’s Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom and several more, all were filmed during and between countless surgeries and chemotherapy.” the statement added.
Black Panther’s franchise has declared Chadwick Boseman’s legacy will live forever and ever through the franchise.
“Our hearts are broken and our thoughts are with Chadwick Boseman’s family.” Black Panther’s franchise said, adding. “Your legacy will live on forever. Rest In Peace.”

“I am so sorry to hear about Chadwick’s passing. I had the great pleasure of a long conversation and photoshoot with him, and he was truly a lovely, kind, impassioned man.” Sam Jones said, adding, “We got deep into Jackie Robinson, James Brown and Thurgood Marshall.”
Jones who loved Chadwick Boseman’s performance at ‘Da 5 Bloods’ movie is happy to have known Chadwick and loved the performance all the more after learning for the first time that he was fighting cancer while shooting the movie.
“What I took away from my time with him is that he was happiest when he was deeply involved in his craft.
His respect for acting, history, and civil rights infused all of his projects, and I just loved his performance in Da 5 Bloods.
To know now that he was fighting cancer while shooting that film makes his performance not only all the more remarkable, but wow, how hard that must have been for him.
What a strong, brave man… I am happy to have known him.”
