Celestine Gachuhi who is popularly known as Selina from the Drama hit series ‘Selina’ has finally opened up about growing up in the hands of her stepmother.

Gachuhi says life wasn’t good at all, not one bit growing up in the hands of a stepmother when she was way younger.

opening up on her YouTube channel exclusively, Gachuhi who recently showed off her gospel musician boyfriend said that she had one of the most difficult childhood any child could ever have especially after she lost her mother a couple of years ago when she was still in Primary School.

Speaking out for the very first time, at least on a public platform, Celestine Gachuhi narrated how her father remarried when she had joined High School soon after completing her Primary School studies.

She was forced to stay with her stepmom in Narok County. In hindsight, Gachuhi says that what she went through as a young teenager in High School isn’t something that anyone at such a young age should ever go through.

“When I was in class five, my mother passed away. In 2007, my dad got married to my step-mum. When I finished my primary school in Nakuru I was taken to Narok and life was not good and amazing as it should be for anyone in high school.

I was depressed with the kind of living and the things I was going through with my step-mu. God’s grace is sufficient and I completed my studies and went ushago,” Gachuhi narrated.

Revealing that she has always looked up to media personality Julie Gichuru because she was always passionate about getting a TV role and one day being casted in one of the best TV shows that would air on national television, Gachuhi disclosed that it was her sister who linked her to a traveling theatre.

She did this after she relocated to Nairobi after she completed her High School studies.
The gig that she got thanks to her sister’s connection was paying her KShs. 3,800(380 USD) for a three-month job.

“I came to Nairobi to live with my sister in a single room in Kayole. I worked for a traveling theatre that paid 3,800 for three months. That’s how it started, I loved being on TV and my role model back then was Julie Gichuru,” she explained.
