Celebrated, renowned and talented actress, Catherine Kamau-Karanja who is popularly known as Kate Actress came out to support President Uhuru Kenyatta’s directive of supporting musicians, artistes, actors, and general entertainers during the trying times of Coronavirus, COVID-19.

The actress who commands a huge following on social media thwarted fellow Kenyans who are against the idea of the President thinking about the entertainment industry because most of the people who are against the President’s directive doesn’t know what it takes to be an entertainer.

“Why is there so much bile about this? Please make me understand. I know so many artistes who are almost sleeping hungry or houses closed because of this pandemic, yet still, you turn on your radio or tv and they put a smile on your face” Catherine Kamau said in part.

Huddah Monroe is among the people who are against the President giving out Kshs. 100 million to the creatives in the country to entertain Kenyans during the COVID-19 pandemic crisis that has seen most businesses closed and the economy is technically on a balance.

Catherine Kamau can’t understand people like Huddah Monroe who are against President Uhuru Kenyatta helping out the creative industry in the country.

Huddah Monroe doesn’t agree with Uhuru Kenyatta giving out money to musicians, says Kenya is hell

“AMA labda wewe si wa locals (as the bourgeoisie say ) Mimi Niko Sawa and I thank God and will continue to Entertain, but najua wengi wanahitaji this help.” Catherine continued.
“Let’s be human. Thank you, my president, Uhuru Kenyatta” she added.

Catherine Kamau’s feedback

After thorough deliberation with unmentioned parties, Catherine Kamau has since made to understand where the bile is coming from and apparently it’s not coming from a bad place.

Since social media has the power to redress any and/or all grievances and to make things right on the same, Catherine Kamau has since shared with his online family the key things she has since found out after she shared her previous post.

“My Apologies if the post came out as insensitive.” Catherine Kamau said on Instagram.

1. I have been made to UNDERSTAND that the bile is About PRIORITIES and not ARTISTES getting paid their Dues.

2. PLEASE NOTE: an ARTISTE is not only the performers you see on social media or any other media. We have MILLIONS of them in this country and most of them are not as privileged as you may think.

3. Part of this fund is actually money OWED to Kenyan artistes as ROYALTIES.

That being said I hope the Fund gets to all deserving artistes!! I also hope the government will equip all departments involved in fighting this pandemic with adequate funds. In short President Uhuru Kenyatta, we all deserve to feel include.

I will continue to play my part in my community which has been To educate on the fight against COVID-19 and to also give to my brothers and sisters. My Apologies if the post came out as insensitive.
