Rapper Cardi B, who endorsed President Joe Biden in the 2020 election, has announced that she will not be voting in the upcoming presidential election.
In an interview with Rolling Stone, Cardi expressed her feelings of “layers and layers of disappointment” under the Biden administration.
“I feel like people got betrayed,” she said, citing her disappointment with the lack of progress on issues such as foreign affairs and the treatment of artists of color who speak out about issues like Israel’s assault on Gaza.
Cardi also expressed frustration with the United States’ role in foreign conflicts, stating that the country is more concerned with its own interests than with helping those in need.
“[America] don’t pay for endless wars for countries that have been going through s— for a very long time,” she said. “There’s countries [where] kids are getting killed every single day, but because the [U.S.] won’t benefit from that country, they won’t help. I don’t like that America has this superhero cape on. We never did things to be superheroes. We did things for our own convenience.”
Cardi’s comments come as a surprise, given her previous endorsement of Biden in the 2020 election. However, it appears that her views have shifted significantly over the past two years, and she is now choosing not to vote in the upcoming election.
It’s worth noting that Cardi B is not alone in her criticisms of the Biden administration. Many others like The Rock have expressed similar concerns about the administration’s policies and actions, and it’s possible that we may see more celebrities speaking out about their dissatisfaction with the government in the coming months.
