Actors Bridget Shighadi and her boyfriend who also doubles as a director and a model opened up about not taking roles that will place them in a romantic scene.
They chose to do this because they don’t want to irk each other.
Nick Mutuma has been in countless TV programs and films that saw him getting romantic with females on the screens with some of them having scenes with him being intimate.
Mutuma was a part of 2008’s ‘Tabasamu’ TV show that saw his character dating an older woman, a sugar mummy. His grandmother didn’t even like to see him on the TV show.
“2008 I was in ‘Tabasamu'(the TV show) and played a role where I was dating a sugar mummy, at the time, it was tricky and there was a lot of tension, my grandmother didn’t like it.
I was in the University and she didn’t understand why I was doing it on TV.” the actor said.

“But for me it was important, I explain to them that I was acting and it was not real life. Most things on TV are mechanical so we have to pretend to make it real,” he added.
Opening up about his partner and the mother of his daughter, Bridget Shighadi who plays “Sophia” on the Citizen TV’s hit show ‘Maria’ to Massawe Japanni, a radio Jambo presenter, and host, Nick Mutuma says they don’t do certain roles just out of respect from their partner.
“Me and Bridget have been together for a long time and now she is acting in “Maria” as “Sophia”, initially, it was an issue when I played certain roles.” Nick Mutuma opened up, “Right now, we don’t do some roles because of the respect we have for each other and what we want to build as a couple.”
Speaking on how fun it was as a single man to act the roles that saw him getting physically and romantically involved with female actors on set he says now he can’t afford to do because if his partner, Bridget were to do that, it can’t stand right by him, thus where the double standards comes in.
“As a man acting those roles were fun but now imagining my partner doing the same thing, there is that double standard, but at least I’m honest.”
He’d rather not act and/or participate in such scenes that might make his girlfriend feel bad.
Bridget Shighadi doesn’t act or get involved in onscreen love scenes at all out of respect for her boyfriend and the father of his daughter.
Still, a hunk altogether even though he’s been locked down by the ever beautiful, soft-spoken actor Bridget Shighadi, Nick Mutuma confessed to still receiving DMs from the thirsty females on social media. Not that reacts to them but he can’t stop them from coming in since most of them are usually random.
“If I say I don’t get tempted it’s a lie, as men we have a wandering eye,” Mutuma confessed.
Bridget Shighadi and Nick Mutuma have been together for 10 years now, together they have a beautiful, adorable daughter. They were introduced by a mutual friend who has since died.
He further revealed that he intends to one day tie the knot with her, however, at the moment he leaves all that to God’s plans.
