Kenya’s opposition leader Raila Odinga has urged his supporters to stay away from work on Monday.
He has accused the government of having planned to rig elections.
“(The) Jubilee (party) have spilt the blood of innocent people. Tomorrow there is no work,” Raila told a crowd in Kibera, Nairobi’s biggest slum.
Raila Odinga was speaking after anger erupted in Kenya following President Uhuru Kenyatta’s re-election last week in parts of Kisumu and Nairobi’s Kibera and Mathare slums.
The police say, they only dealt with criminals who were taking advantage of the situation to loot and destroy property.
Calm has been reported in the areas.
