Tanzanian boxer Karim Mandonga has been gifted a car by a famous businessman in his country just a few days after shining during a boxing competition in Nairobi.
Mandonga was fighting Kenyan boxer Daniel Wanyonyi whom he defeated in the 5th round by a professional knockout.
The braggadocios boxer announced in the promo of the fight several weeks ago saying that the punch he had prepared for Wanyonyi had its origin from the bomb explosions in the war between Russia and Ukraine under the name Sugunyo.
And true to his words, he was able to knock out the Kenyan opponent and won himself a car as well.
Mandonga thanked the businessman through his Instagram saying that for a long time it was his dream to get his own means of transport, a dream that has been achieved after the fight in Kenya – which was his first victory outside Tanzania.
Initially, there was information that the boxer was not paid but was only doing it for self-care, but that claim was dismissed by his promoter who said that he received all the money and asked the comedian Eric Omondi to apologize within seven days for lying that Mandonga was not paid.
Eric Omondi tunaweza kumchukulia hatua kwa sababu anatuchafulia jina,” the promoter said.
