Legendary artist Bobby Mapesa has revealed he had the worst childhood. Moses Oduma, better known as Bobby Mapesa, was born in Huruma, Nairobi County, on April 25, 1985.
He is a businessman, entertainer, and hip-hop recording artist from Kenya.
Bobby Mapesa is famously known for his hit songs like ‘Naskia Utam’, ‘Mawezere’, ‘Stima Zime Kam’, ‘Mtoto Mzuri’ and many others.
He says his father used to beat him ruthlessly like a dog, he would ask him to get naked, then lay on the floor; every time he made a mistake as a child.
Bobby Mapesa, also shares that his father like many other fathers from their generation would spend time drinking alcohol at bars and dens.
They are not generally friends and they don’t speak often, it happens once in a while.
He was raised in H-Town, or Huruma Estate, in Nairobi’s Eastlands.
Bobby schooled at Huruma Primary School, Mwangaza Primary School, and then Dagoretti High School for his O-levels.
While in High School, they would steal books, sneak and sell them in the CBD, then make merry at the famous Sabina Joy(If you don’t gerrit, forget about it).
Later on, they would go to club Florida 2000, aka F2 for Jam Sessions on Sunday afternoons to watch the likes of Bamboo, K-South perform.
Bobby Mapesa says his father is currently living in the US.
His parents are no longer together as a couple for years now after their separation.
Bobby also feels that his mother would’ve protected him instead of letting him get punished to extreme levels and for this reason he says their conversation is never all that smooth as a result of trauma.
Bobby Mapesa was speaking the unspoken to Mwafreeka on Iko Nini podcast via YouTube.
