The ‘Bangi’ song which was written and performed by Michael Mugo alias Just Imagine Africa and released on January 1st, 2020.

Nduati Murigi popularly known by his mononym, Nduati, a talented gospel musician has a response for the ‘Bangi’ song.
“I am a believing Christian. In a sense,” Nduati told Biggest Kaka, “that simply means that I think differently and my thought process is heavily influenced by the Bible.
It may be common knowledge that the church does not endorse the use of marijuana, but I doubt anyone in the Christian arts has ever fleshed it out to give more perspective and truth. I decided to take up the challenge and conjure up what that would look like.”
Nduati felt it was appropriate for the song to have a gospel reply.
“I did the song that I may be a part of a conversation that’s happening on the airwaves. That’s how I think of music.
It’s a conversation. People are endorsing something, or expressing something, or explaining something.
One conversation that has really become prominent in the last two/three years is the recreational use of marijuana” Nduati said.
Nduati commended Just Imagine Africa for being as bold as anybody could when it comes to his hit record ‘Bangi’ and being unapologetic to the same.
After the successful emergence of Gengetone, most if not all artistes from the genre are always keen to pass some of the messages through their music linger around marijuana generally.
Nduati being a keen observer of this, noticed that and deemed it appropriate to write a response to the song.
“With the rise of Gengetone, it was one of the major themes in almost every song.
And ‘Bangi’ by Just Imagine Africa took the crown for running with it, having a song around the entire subject matter and being unapologetic about it.
I decided to join in the conversation by writing a song in response to his song.” Nduati shared his two cents on jumping on the response of the ‘Bangi’ hit song, adding “I think it’s very easy to choose to go with the flow, and follow whatever trend that comes up.
But it is super beneficial to pause and think, before choosing a path.”

Nduati uses serious metaphors on the record that is also dubbed ‘Bangi’ but one stands out where he says; “Wee hutake pride that wee huvuta bangi, but uko sure aje hii bangi haikuvutangi?”
Everybody else apart from us, of course, since we already know his potential, should take notice of Nduati, he’s got the potential to take over the gospel music to heights we never knew the genre had before.
Nduati is the next big thing, it’s a good thing we called it before anybody else.
