Bahati has been thrown into emotional turmoil after a woman appeared on online claiming to be his biological mother — despite his belief that she died more than two decades ago.
The Mama hitmaker revealed late Tuesday, December 2, 2025, that the shockwaves from the viral video have rippled straight into his home, leaving his children confused and frightened by a revelation that contradicts everything they have grown up believing about their father’s past.
Bahati said he was forced to abruptly abandon his plans and rush back to Nairobi to comfort his shaken family.
“It’s shaken my kids. They’re confused. I had to rush back to Nairobi. Could my mother still be alive?” he wrote on Instagram.
The storm began when a video surfaced of an elderly woman calmly insisting she is Bahati’s mother — and pleading with him to forgive her.
According to her, poverty forced her to take him to a children’s home shortly after birth, a decision she says has haunted her for decades.
“Bahati, mimi ni mama yako… I’m begging for forgiveness,” she says in the emotional video.
“I gave birth to you but I couldn’t raise you. I took you to a children’s home. You were told your mother died — but I am alive.”
She adds that she is ready to undergo a DNA test and finally meet the son she says she has carried in her heart for years.
But Bahati insists he personally attended his mother’s burial more than 25 years ago and even saw her grave.
The unexpected claim has torn open a painful chapter of his childhood, leaving him wrestling with memories he never thought he would have to question.
“My mum died over 25 years ago. I attended her burial and saw her grave. This woman has confused me even more. So what should I do?” he said.
As the video continues to spread, fans are now urging him to take a DNA test — while others warn him to tread carefully as he confronts a potential truth that could rewrite his entire life story.
