Music sensation Kevin Kioko, famously known as Bahati, got real about his love life and childhood hardships in his Netflix reality show, “The Bahati’s Empire.”
In a candid moment, Bahati shared the unique qualities he sought in a wife before marrying Diana Marua, a match that continues to captivate fans.
Bahati admitted that he has a thing for older women, confessing that she fell for his wife because she was older than him and also loved God.
“Two things. One, she had to be saved. Second, she had to be older than me. Somehow, just to confess, I love my women older,” Bahati disclosed. Notably, the couple has an age gap of six years, with Diana being the senior.
Bahati also delved into his challenging childhood, shedding light on the poignant circumstances that landed him in a children’s home despite having a living father.
“I lost my mother when I was seven years old. My father remarried and moved out of town. That is how I ended up at ABC Kenya Children’s Home. I studied there and when I was in Standard Eight, I got a call… All this time I had never seen my father. But I got a call to go and bury him,” Bahati recounted with visible emotion.
The couple’s relationship has always intrigued fans, partly due to their openness about its unconventional aspects.
Despite the odds, Bahati and Diana’s bond has only strengthened over time. Reflecting on his love for Diana, Bahati couldn’t hide his admiration and gratitude for the profound impact she has had on his life.
“She used to take care of her family, she’s the older sister and it’s like she’s the one who raised the younger ones. Because I’m an orphan, the moment I wanted to start a family, I wanted someone who could create a space for a life I never had before,” Bahati said in a previous interview.
The couple is raising a blended family, with three children of their own and two others—one from Bahati’s previous relationship and an adopted son.
Their story of love, resilience, and family values continues to inspire fans across the globe, showcasing that true love transcends age and adversity.
