Kevin Bahati has come from far. He is a tale of loss, struggle, hurt, pain, and redemption. From the harsh slum life of Mathare to becoming a gospel award-winning artist.
His journey has been filled with many ups and downs.
What with losing his mother at a very young age to seeing first hand how cruel this world can be when a young boy/girl is an orphan.
So it was very inspiring to see the message that he posted on his social media about how far the Lord has brought him and the woman he considers his second mother.
The woman in question took Bahati from the streets of Mathare to ABC Kenya children’s home, where he got the chance to attend school and have the semblance of a normal life.
The singer has not been one to receive without also giving back. He himself adopted a son Morgan and two daughters. I know his music is very polarizing but we can all agree that this is a stellar move by this individual. Anywho this is what he wrote to the woman and her husband, a touching ode indeed.
“Tonight Was One of the Most Humbling Evenings in my Life. I got a Visit from a Woman that Took Me from Mathare at a Tender age. She Offered to take me Back to School and Housed me at #ABCKENYA Children’s Home. I am whom I am Because You & Your husband Accepted to be Used Of the Lord. I know you’re Happy I can invite you for Dinner at a Place I call Home. i Respect you #THOURUN for being a Mum when I Needed that Mother’s Love Most, MUNGU AKULIPE🙏”
