Pastor Victor Kanyari has once again stirred controversy with his comments on the qualities of a good wife, sparking mixed reactions among Kenyans.
In a video posted on his popular TikTok page, Kanyari asserted that women who speak English are not suitable wives and cannot fulfill the role effectively.
“Accept it or not! A wife material doesn’t speak fluent English. If you disagree, let me know! But if you agree, comment ‘Prophet is on point,'” he confidently declared.
He reiterated his point by stating, “A wife material doesn’t speak fluent English.”
Further aggravating some viewers, Kanyari claimed that women who use iPhones are also not ideal candidates for marriage.
“A wife material doesn’t use an iPhone! She uses a feature phone. If you see a woman with an iPhone, she’s not wife material,” he asserted.
Predictably, Kanyari’s remarks elicited a range of responses from his followers, with some expressing agreement and others expressing shock.
This latest incident comes on the heels of Kanyari’s previous controversy, where he received a condom as a gift from a TikTok follower at the altar, prompting criticism and warnings from Kenyans about disrespecting religious sanctuaries.
Following the backlash, Kanyari issued an apology, opting to defuse the situation rather than escalate tensions further.
