The Legendary soukous musician from Congo, Brazzaville Aurlus Mabele who was based in Paris is dead.
The legend musician who was as big in Africa as your favorite pop star musician is today back in the day has passed on following a coronavirus infection.
He was also suffering from the effects of a stroke he had years ago.
The 67-year-old who was born in 1953 in Brazaville, Congo checked into a hospital in Paris, France on March 19, 2020, and died later that night.
The shocking news of Mabele’s death was announced by his daughter Liza Monet on her social media account.
“My dad died of coronavirus this morning [Thursday night] … Thank you for honoring his memory. He is a great legend of the Soukouss that the Congolese people are losing today. I am inconsolable and collapsed. My dad whom I love so much … Aurlus Mabele,” Liza posted on her Twitter account.

Together with guitarist Diblo Dibala, Rammy Salomon, and Jean Baron, Arlus Mabele were members of Loketo Band formed in the mid-1980s.
Back in 1991, Kenyans got to watch him perform live together with then-drummer, Awilo Longomba, new solo guitarist, Dally Kimoko, and Jean Baron backing him up on the show that was attended by fans from every part of the country.

Mabele was one of the first Paris-based Soukous Stars who set the standards by releasing numerous projects that helped raise the bar in the genre in the 1980s.
Arlus Mabele is survived by Liza Monet.
