Anto Neosoul doesn’t need any introduction whatsoever because his voice does all the talking for him musically and it doesn’t disappoint one bit.
The multi talented superstar musician has a lot of thanks to give to Mrs. Owino who is the one who saw the potential of music in him at a very tender age when the singer was just in class four nineteen years ago and urged him to surge forward and give no apologies while at it. Apparently all of Anto Neosoul fans owe their gratitude to Mrs. Owino-who used to be Anto Neosoul teacher-for pushing the singer to be what he is today, so ‘THANK YOU’ Mrs. Owino for that on behalf of all the fans out there.
The singer who has released the cover for Adele’s song ‘Hello’ dubbed ‘Ghetto Reply’ which is a pretty much a reply for Adele’s ‘Hello’ was so sentimental after meeting up with his primary school teacher at Lavington Primary School after 19 years without seeing each other has a lot to say and this is what he had to say about his encounter with his former teacher in primary school;
19 years ago a week like today, I met the lady who was going to change my life forever. I met my class 4 Teacher, Mrs Owino in Lavington Primary School. She moulded my talent. Pushed me to sing, to be presentable, to perform and to fear God. Today, I surprised her in class, we had lunch together, spoiled her a bit as she protested because as ever, she remains humble in all she does. Today I told her thank you. Thank you for never giving up on me. Thank you for the great memories. Thank you for the discipline you instilled in me. Thank you for pushing me to be one of Kenya’s greatest vocalists. No apologies. Like you always said. Today I shed a tear, because I saw in her eyes that after 34 years of teaching, her kids never forget her. Thank you Mrs. Owino. You are my icon today and forever.
For all of the Anto Neosoul fans and music enthusiasts be sure to catch the singer live tonight at ‘OneOnOne’ with the beautiful Lilian Muli at Citizen television at 9 pm where he will talk about his life and more and probably talk about his encounter with the teacher who helped him be who he is today.
Here’s his cover song for Adele’s ‘Hello’ the ‘Ghetto Reply’. Take it from me, it’s something that you can never expect him to pull off but he did exactly that with ease
