Local musician Vicky Young Ensanako attracted the wrath of a mob after he knocked pedestrians while driving on the Kisii-Kericho road.
The musician caused the deaths of four people in the Gatare area of Kisii county prompting the mob to bay for his blood.
The car veered off the road and knocked people nearby. Four people were reported dead following the accident.
Witnesses claim that the musician was intoxicated at the time of the accident, which angered the mob causing them to set the artiste’s car on fire and nearly lynched him.
After the collision, he attempted to flee the scene but lost control of the vehicle near Omogonchoro in Nyamira County. The angry mob quickly seized the car but the musician was rescued thanks to the intervention of police officers.
The torching of Vicky Young Ensanako’s car by the angry mob reflects the intense emotions stirred by the tragic loss of life. While it is understandable that people may feel outraged and seek retribution, it is important to let the legal process take its own course.
