Opposition leader Raila Odinga has told President Uhuru Kenyatta that he is not afraid to face him in 2017.
Raila said he had defeated Mwai Kibaki in 20o7 and so Uhuru cannot challenge him politically.
Raila Odinga was speaking during his tour of Western Kenya as he continued his push to get Luhya votes.
Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD) leader Raila Odinga has told President Uhuru Kenyatta that he is not afraid to face him in the 2017 election.
Raila who was addressing crowds at Luanda in Vihiga county said he was ready for the challenge from Uhuru.
The CORD leader said he has once beaten Mwai Kibaki in the 2007 election and Uhuru cannot scare him.
Raila said Uhuru cannot defeat him come 2017 as he will floor him and take the presidency.
“I was able to defeat Mwai Kibaki in 2007, why would I fear Uhuru Kenyatta. I am not afraid of him and I am ready to face him in the presidential elections next year,” said Odinga.
Raila Odinga who is also the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader is in Western Kenya on a tour to drum support for his 2017 presidential push.
Raila has faced a rebellion from several leaders in the region including his once staunch supporter Budalangi MP Ababu Namwamba.
Namwamba resigned as ODM secretary general and has threatened to move to another party and challenge Raila for supremacy in the region.
Other leaders from Western to decamp from ODM are Sirisia MP John Walukhe and Funyula’s Paul Otuoma.
