Video clips showing police brutally assaulting students at Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) has sparked uproar from all quarters.
On Tuesday November 11th JKUAT students took to the streets to protest rising insecurity, they claimed that knife-wielding criminals waylay them from as early as 6pm and rob them of cash, phones and laptops.
Police were called in to break up the demo and they used excessive force. Raw footage show anti-riot officers literally lynching students they cornered during the protests.
The video clips sparked public uproar making Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i and Inspector General of Police Hillary Mutyambai promise to take stern action against police officers caught on tape assaulting students.
