“Alcohol ruined my life” Inspekta Mwala’s colleague opens up days after the actor killed a pedestrian due to drunk driving

Davies Mwabili, popularly known as Inspekta Mwala, killed a pedestrian in Kaloleni, Kilifi County on Monday night August 26th, 2019.

The Citizen TV actor was driving from Kaloleni town on Mazeras highway at around 11 pm when he tried to overtake and veered off the road, hitting Ismael Mangi who succumbed to his injuries.

Police have since determined that Inspekta Mwala was drunk when he caused the accident. According to police, the actor was driving under the influence when he hit Ismael Mangiwho was crossing the road, killing him on the spot.

Inspekta Mwala’s colleague on the Citizen TV show – Allan Muliro has since come out to narrate how alcohol destroyed his life.

Speaking during an interview on Word Is, Muliro revealed that he lost his work as a presenter on Radio Citizen because of his love for alcohol.

“I lost my job as a sports presenter on Radio Citizen’s Viwanjani Michezo na Burudani show because of being alcoholic. My performance at work wasn’t good and my family also fell apart.” Muliro said.

“My wife and I are trying to work things out and I’m happy the relationship has improved after rehab. But I regret my past and keep asking myself why am I alone, why did I do this’? If given a chance, I would go back and do my best because I have the potential,” added Muliro.

Muliro revealed that he became an alcoholic in 2013 after losing his mother, and it was until 2018 when he overcame his addiction after being taken to rehab in Thika.
