Alikiba and wife Amina Khalef Rikesh separated about three months ago, the Bongo singer has now publicly as his Kenyan sweetheart to get back with him.
Rumors about Alikiba and Amina’s split first emerged in August this year. Tanzanian press reported that Amina got fed up of living with Kiba’s relatives in the same house and that she asked her husband to rent a separate house for them.
Amina threatened to leave if Kiba didn’t evict his relatives. Apparently Alikiba’s mother was irked by Amina’s ‘outrageous’ demand and they had an ugly confrontation.
Kiba’s wife reportedly decided walked out of her matrimonial home after her husband sided with his mother following the altercation.
Alikiba, who has always been cagey when it comes to his family, finally admitted that his marriage was on the rocks while speaking during an interview with Diva The Bawse in September.
The singer refused to explain in detail the cause of his marital conflict, but he stressed that his mother was not the one who caused him to breakup with his wife.
Alikiba publicly asked Amina to get back with him in his new song ‘ Mshumaa’. He told his estranged Kenyan wife that he is really missing her and reminded her of their marital vows – “for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death us do part”.
“Nakumiss…Tena! Tutonana, Hata Mungu akipanga leo nikufe kesho, tutaonana tena. Labda nikukumbushe, Nilipokuvisha pete, Ulisema machache, Hauniachi mpaka nife,” Alikiba sings in the song.
