Tanzanian singer Alikiba has revealed that his favorite genre of Kenyan music is Gengetone.

Alikiba is in Kenya for his Mahaba music tour and he is also expected to perform at the final event of the Safari rally on Sunday in Naivasha.

In an interview with Citizen, Alikiba talked about his love for Gengetone songs that are sung a lot by many young Kenyan artists.

He revealed that he likes to listen to Gengetone a lot, especially this time when he is in the country.

“Mimi napenda sana Kenya, ni kama nyumbani. Huwa nasikiliza miziki ya Kenya kila wakati, kila siku. Napenda muziki wao, nausupport. Siwezi sema ni msanii mgani lakini napenda msanii ambaye anajua kuandika vizuri. Gengetone napenda, naisikiliza sana. Mara nyingi unajua nikiwa Kenya, nitasikiliza muziki gani? Nawajua wasanii wa Kenya, namjua ni yupi master,” Alikiba said.

The ‘Utu’ artist said that he will perform in Naivasha on Sunday with his band live on stage and asked everyone to come out in large numbers to enjoy his concert.

The Bongo singer in a separate interview after he landed in Kenya addressed his ongoing divorce drama with his Kenyan estranged wife Amina Khalef.
