Ugandan musician-cum-politician Bobi Wine has been ranked the richest musician in East Africa with a net worth of $9 million/Ksh1.192 billion.
Tanzania’s Diamond Platnumz came second with a $8.2 million/Ksh1.086 billion net worth while Jose Chameleone was third with $8/Ksh1.060 billion.
Akothee was ranked fourth in the list with a net worth of $7.6 million/Ksh1.007 billion.
Veteran Tanzanian musican-turned-politician Professor Jay closed the top five richest artistes in East Africa with a $7.5 million/Ksh993 million net worth.

Akothee reacted to the list sarcastically saying that she didn’t want to be included because she is no longer rich but wealthy.
