Akothee decided to share how she was conned while buying land in a bid to enlighten Kenyans how to avoid falling victims to such schemes.
The mother of five painfully narrated how she lost money while thinking she was engaging herself with honest land sellers.
“BE CAREFUL WHILE BUYING LAND/ PROPERTY.
“Back in 2008 ,I bought land that never existed with my only savings ,. The land was going for 120ksh , I paid a deposit of 80k🤣🤣🤣 That was Hot Air. Since then , I don’t buy land like skuma 💃🤣imebaki tu kuzungushana na ma savayor.
“Be careful while purchasing land. 1. Never send any of your friends ,relatives money to purchase land for you ,if you are far use a real estate Agent , atleast you have someone to sue,” Akothee wrote in part.
The singer further narrated how she spent years trying to get title deed of a parcel of land that was sold to her by an owner who took her round and round.
“Back in 2013 I bought land again worth 600,000 ksh , The gentleman pleased with me that his children are stick he needs an urgent school fee , with my stupid heart ,I gave him the money. After the gentleman had the money ,the cats and rat scenario started for me to get my tittle deeds became a debt. The savayor ate my 25ksh odhi sulu , 🤣🤣🤣🤣
“After 7 years I woke up to the task , I started following my tittle deed , only to realize the said gentleman acquired loan with my tittle deed, and the tittle deed is in the bank . So I need to pay 200k for my tittle deed to be released.🤔🤔🤔🤔It pained me Soo much ,but hey the land had increased in value ,so I decided well, let me pay 200k before I lose 600k 🤔I paid this money , ooooh.
“The cats and rat scenario began yoooooo. I was Soo bitter ,angry that I cursed everyone, by the way it was not the 800k paining me ,it’s was the mode of transaction TRUST 🙏.
“Even after paying the 200kMy tittle deed was collected by Police and submitted at Rongo police station ⛽
It took me 9 years to get my tittle deed in my hand 🤔🤔
“I shared this story so you know you are not stupid ,you are not Alone . Mr Brian I will finalise his case this week.
Now I feel better ,maybe someone somewhere is also going through this 🙏,” Akothee wrote.
