Akothee breathes fire at Radio Jambo over ‘maskini’ remark

Akothee couldn’t keep calm after Radio Jambo referred to her with the word ‘maskini’, Swahili word which means ‘poor’ when translated to English.

Radio Jambo ran a story on their blog on how Akothee was mistreated while in the US, a move that made her arrive late for a show.

This comes a few days after Akothee revealed details of the mistreatment she was subjected to by a promoter during her performance in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Akothee overacted when Radio Jambo used the word ‘maskini’ when talking about her predicament in US. The context which the world ‘maskini’ was used does not imply that Akothee is poor, but nonetheless the singer thought she was referred as being poor.

“Maskini inatoka wapi sasa @radiojambokenya, na ile Best female Artist award Muliona kweli mkanipongeza kabla kunihurumia mimi na mafans. Kenya nimehama? Kuna baadhi za majina sipendi kuitwa kamwe kama vile vile “maskini ” chaai NEVER ,I don’t like sympathy, encouragement is key encourage and congratulate me please ,mambo ya wuoishee wachana nayo #calpolis,” wrote Akothee.
