AKA’s Fiancée Anele “Nelli” Tembe was finally laid to rest in a ceremony attended by close friends and family in KwaZulu-Natal.
The funeral ceremony was streamed live on YouTube for everybody who couldn’t make it to the ceremony to be a part of the funeral.
Her father Mr. Moses Tembe refuted claims that her daughter took her own life.
A letter from Moses was read out by businessman Sandile Zungu, who said the letter was a reflection of a “grieving father”.
“I cannot allow an unfortunate narrative to go unchallenged, a narrative that irks me to no end … that is ‘Anele was chronically suicidal. All I can say is until Anele turned 21, not a single member of her family, my family would have associated her with suicide.”

Mr. Tembe who stressed the fact that he was proud to be Anele’s father said that his daughter was a brave woman who warned the youth against indulging in alcohol consumption and drug abuse urging AKA to accept Jesus Christ into his life and validated the pain he was going through following the death of his Fiancée.
“I knew Kiernan loved my daughter but their companionship needed more than love. It had to be premised and embedded on a Godly foundation.”
AKA was inconsolable after learning about the death of his Fiancée Anele “Nellie” Tembe, he hasn’t made any statement yet since the passing of Nellie.
“Anele made me happy as a father, very happy. Anele was feisty, strong-willed some might say. She was single-minded in her pursuits, what others would uncritically call stubborn. Anele never minced her words, an attribute that would perturb her siblings, which she balanced by giving her absolute best to those around her.
In my deepest desire that my girl live to be who she wanted to be, I nurtured these Anele traits. For I truly believed that she had needed guidance rather than repression, persuasion rather than brute force,” he said.
AKA had already paid lobola to the family of his late Fiancée Anele “Nelli” Tembe, the two were making plans for their grand wedding prior to her untimely death.
