The 9th Edition of Sawa Sawa Festival will be held between the 16th and 19th March 2016
at the Sarakasi Dome-Ngara.

True to the spirit of celebrating our homegrown talent, this year’s theme will be focusing on Sarakasi Trust’s 15 year’s journey in supporting the local performing talent and giving the youths an opportunity for exposure on the Sawa Sawa platform.

Sarakasi Trust initiated the annual Sawa Sawa Festival to create a unique festival with an African cultural identity. This year’s Sawa Sawa Festival line up will celebrate Kenya’s finest and as always at hand to spice up the event will be the Sarakasi All Stars, showcasing the best in acrobatics and dance.

Wednesday 16th March: Press Round Table

From 11am: a press networking session between artists and the media creating an opportunity to discuss the issues of moving the industry forward. Hosted by Arthur K and Emmanuel Ntoyai .Lunch and transport will be provided.

Thursday 17th March: Artist’s take over

This will be a stakeholder’s forum from 11am at the same venue involving key stakeholders and policy makers in the industry. Hosted by Anyiko Awoko and Anitah Mbuguah. Lunch and transport will be provided.

Friday 18th March: Sarakasi Says Thank You — VIP opening

Sarakasi Trust has come up with a number of activities that will culminate to the official opening of the Festival. Happening at the Sarakasi Dome from 8pm featuring Amos and Josh, Gloria Muliro, Sarakasi All-stars, Dj Joe Mfalme and MC Adelle Anyango.

Saturday 19th March: Hip Hop Meets Reggae — Organized in cooperation with our youth groups

During Day Time we have various activities lined up for the public; these include Sawa Sawa cypher, street djs competition and Dj Sejo

In the evening Performances by Abbas, L Ness, Lavosti, Gravitti Band, Sarakasi All Star and Dj Kace
