1) Why Kenya is talking about Bruce Odhiambo: A parliamentary committee was yesterday told that the Youth Enterprise Development Fund lost a whopping Sh400 million to fraudulent activities involving its top officials in what could turn out to be yet another mega scandal involving a government agency.

2) The admission of South Sudan into the the regional bloc EAC expected to be top on agenda as a three-day heads of state summit starts in Arusha, Tanzania. Uganda’s Yoweri Museveni arrived in Tanzania for the summit Tuesday.

3) Presidents John Pombe Magufuli and Yoweri Museveni held bilateral talks Tuesday; discussed plans to build oil pipeline between Tanga and Uganda which will employ 1,500 people. The Tanzanian president congratulated his Ugandan counterpart on his recent electoral win.

4) NBS reporter Bahati Remmy says the Police statement on her arrest claiming she was obstructing officers on duty ‘holds no iota of truth’. Ms Bahati partly wrote on Facebook: “Instead of issuing false information and what caused my arrest, the Uganda Police Force should issue a written apology. I was man handled, fondled inside that van and beaten by huge men.”

5) Former Al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden had £20.8 million and wanted it to be used ‘on jihad’, according to his handwritten will. The former al Qaida leader’s will was released in a batch of more than 100 documents seized during the American raid which killed him.
