5 Kenyan singers who ditched secular music after giving their lives to Christ

More Kenyan female singers are seeing the light compared to their male counterparts. At least 5 female singers who dominated the industry with secular songs have since gotten saved and ditched secular industry altogether.

So who are these singers who turned over a new leaf?

Lady Bee

Bernice Mugo aka Lady Bee was one of the most sought-after secular singers in Kenya when she dominated the airwaves with hits like ‘Genge Love’, ‘Kumbuka’ etc.

Lady Bee however saw the light sometimes 2012 and stopped dropping secular songs. She has since dropped several gospel songs including ‘Matuda’ with Eunice Njeri.

Size 8

Size 8 was arguably the queen of the secular industry, she dropped hits like ‘Shamba Boy’, ‘Moto’, ‘Vidonge’ etc. Size 8 confirmed that she was born again in April 2013 by releasing her first and critically acclaimed gospel single ‘Mateke’.

Size 8 also asked all TV and radio stations to stop playing all secular songs she ever released.

She was quite a twerker during her days in the secular industry.

Cece Sagini

Cecilia Sagini Kemunto popularly known as Cece Sagini got saved in October 2017. The gorgeous Afro-Soul songstress caught the attention of Kenyans when she dropped her hit single ‘I Am a Doer’ featuring Octoppizo.

Interestingly, Cece Sagini got her breakthrough in the industry when she was featured by gospel artiste Jimmy Gait in his hit song ‘Appointment’ that was voted the Song of the Year at the Groove Awards in 2013.

Cece has now ditched everything secular, she dropped her first gospel song ‘Come Down’ in December 2017.

Wahu

Wahu was the darling of revelers who go out partying at nightclubs. The mother of two boasts of several secular hit songs such as ‘Liar’, ‘Kibow Wow’, ‘Sitishiki’, ‘Sweet Love’ among others.

Wahu however gave her life to Christ in November 2017 and started dropping gospel song.

She made a debut in the gospel industry with her single ‘Sifa’.

Amani

Amani is another singer who boasts of several secular hit songs including ‘Ninanoki’ ‘Kiboko Changu’ ‘Heart Breaker’, ‘Kizungu zungu’ among others.

Amani announced she had given her life to Christ on 15th February 2018.

She is yet to drop her first gospel song.
