The famous Gikomba market went up in flames at 3am Friday September 6th. Traders are counting billions as the fire razed down hundreds of stalls and several other buildings.
Gikomba landmark Business Centre which houses a Family Bank branch at the ground floor was also burnt, the bank itself was partly burnt.
The flames rose four storeys up the wall of Gikomba Business Centre building. No one was however injured in the early Friday morning inferno.
