Willy Paul amongst many is somewhat a ‘legend’ and truth be told, I am slowly becoming to consider him as one, he has changed the game as we know it, I mean which artiste did you use to know way back before Willy Paul’s era was cashing in check after check solely in music alone?

That’s a food for thought right there.

But all that success did not come all that easy and Willy Paul –who recently acknowledged a new moniker ‘Msafi’ as part of his name– whenever given a chance and/or platform never cease to tell us how far he has come from one of the most feared and congested slums in the country Mathare but he surpassed all that to be what he is today; a Star, a Role Model and a seek-after ace gospel musician.

What many people don’t usually know is that in every person’s life there’s always that one person that you always want to emulate and consider him as a role model per se and Willy Paul Msafi’s role model three years ago was none other than America’s wonder kid Justin Bieber who became an instant internet sensation before he broke out to be one of the sought after musicians in our generation, well Willy Paul used to dress like him, sing like him, dance like him, walk like him and at some point tried to talk like him but his accent didn’t allow him to do just that plus he went on ahead to want to have the same hair cut.

Hold up! Yes you read correctly, Willy Paul wanted to have the same hair cut as Justin Bieber but that of course didn’t happen though and we probably might just know why.

As we all know, at that time, Justin Bieber wasn’t behaving in a good manner per se and that caused his PR to advice him to delete all of his posts on social media –might that be the reason why gospel singer Bahati deleted all of his posts on social media, especially on instagram; for the sake of PR– and went on ahead to apologize to his fans and did a song specifically for that and Willy Paul bluntly admits that he almost went ahead to copy what Justin Beiber did after folks started to accuse him falsely but chose instead to ask God before doing anything and after a year he found himself leading ‘Praise and Worship’ at JCC Church.

Bahati Has Deleted All Of His Posts On Instagram And Nobody Knows Why

I guess sometimes wanting to become some really pays because look at where Willy Paul is at just because he wanted to be like one of the great artistes that ever rocked a microphone.

Below is  what Willy Paul wrote officially about his wanting to become a ‘Justin Beiber’.

“Three years back, I looked upto Justin bieber a lot. I copied his dressing, singing, dancing and walking style.. I got so obsessed to a point that I almost got his hair cut… I even tried talking like him bit my swahili accent always sold me out. I copied everything about Justine, I remember when things got out of hand and people started disliking him coz. Of his bad behavior. His PR told him to delete all his post on his social platform e.g: Twitter, Facebook, tango, snapchat and Instagram. When he got back his first post was an apology letter to all his fans and the world at large.. It was followed by and apology song.. I ALMOST COPIED HIM when people started hating on me and accusing me falsely, I thought of doing the same thing Justine did. But before I just before.. .. I thought for 5hours asking myself.. Questions and getting no answers… I asked God to tell me my purpose on earth… He did not answer immediately, but after one year he answered me and that’s when I found myself leading praise and worship at jcc church….. Now I know my calling… The Lord has appointed me to lead those who don’t know Him, into His Kingdom…”

I love everybody who loves everybody, somebody got to love somebody at some point.
Music is something that comes natural to everybody and it's a language that everybody can understand, I understand it and that's why I speak it
fluently, do you.
