Why Jaguar Is Going Places Where No Kenyan Artiste Has Been

3 mins read

All other shoddy and whack Kenyan artistes will only see the foot prints of Jaguar and would be forced to follow on his footsteps if they don’t stop acting right and consider music ad part of their livelihood.

I mean Jaguar has invested so much money in his music that even if you listen to many of his jams it will make you feel some type of way  and that’s the road that another investing artiste Akothee is taking.  Sooner or later, these two artistes will be on everyone’s lips in Africa and mark you when that day arrive, Kenya will definitely be on the map musically, don’t get me wrong I mean Kenyan hip hop scene is already covered since we got Khaligraph Jones, Octopizzo, Kayvo KForce, Maluda, Smallz Lethal, Juliani and Nafsi Huru covering that and helping the Kenyan hip hop to climb to the echelon it deserves.

But when it comes to singing, it’s somewhat another thing altogether since music groups got that already covered as well with the likes of Sauti Sol (doing their very best), Zikki, H_art The Band representing us while individual artistes comes a little bit challenging as we have just but a few mainstream artistes like Jaguar, Akothee, Gilad Millo, Wendy Kimani, Anto Neosoul but only two of these great artistes are pushing their potential to the limits to get recognized beyond Kenya and beyond and that’s Jaguar and Akothee, they pay premium for premium worth of songs to get collaboration tracks with established African artistes(something that other artistes should consider doing to get more fans outside their comfort zone in Kenya).

Would it be nice for a Kenyan artiste to be invited to perform in Nigeria or South Africa alongside established artistes like Cassper Nyovest, AKA, Riky Rick and the rest.

Wyre and Eric Wainaina are a perfect example of what other artistes should do and since they are a monopoly on their genre we wont dwell on them that much.

Kenyan artistes should consider doing what Jaguar and Akothee are doing and that’s investing in their music, investing in their collabos and investing in their music videos.

Check out the music video for ‘Going Nowhere’ by Jaguar with South Africa’s Mafikizolo to understand what am talking about in earnest.

I love everybody who loves everybody, somebody got to love somebody at some point.
Music is something that comes natural to everybody and it's a language that everybody can understand, I understand it and that's why I speak it
fluently, do you.
