Victor Wanyama is now the lion of Muthurwa. The Harambee Stars captain & Southampton midfielder has released a video of himself through his journey from streets of Nairobi Eastlands to the English Premier League.

It’s an inspiring story titled “The lion Of Muthurwa” of how he defied all odds to become the first Kenyan player to play in the English Premier League.

In the 4minutes clip, Wanyama narrates at how he used to walk with to the cinema’s to watch his favorite players in Europe, How he used to play football in streets with his friends with bare foots & how he received a national team call up at a tender age of fifteen years.

“I accompanied my dad to the cinemas to watch my favorite players but sometimes sneaked in when I didn’t have the money. I won my first pair of boots when I was ten, they were heavy since I wasn’t used to playing in them but I had to adapt. Five years later I got a call up to the national team and within a year I made it to Europe. I had stints in Belgian, Scotland and played in the Champions League,” Wanyama said.
