Two Muslim USIU Students Arrested In Church. One Shares A Name With Slain UoN Students Who Massacred Students At Garissa University

Shura, a Muslim council formed by the Muslim community to resolve conflicts pitting Muslims and non-Muslims, is crying foul after two Muslim USIU students were arrested in a church last Sunday.

The two, Abdirahim Abdalla (school ID number 647664) and Mohammed Abdulhamid (641278) are said to be carrying out research for a school project on inter-cultural relations.

Shura says Christian students have carried out research in mosques yet they were not treated with apprehension as with the case with their Muslim counterparts.

Abdirahim Abdalla shares a name with Abdirahim Abdullahi, the slain University of Nairobi student who what part of the Al Shabaab gang that massacred 148 students at Garissa University College in April 2015.

Shura says the arrest of the two Muslim students would make other Muslims shy away from passing near a church and associating with their brothers and sisters from other faiths for fear of being rounded up and locked up on suspicion of terror.

The two USIU students were to be presented in court today.
