Shock as Peruvian brides marry trees in bizarre mass wedding

Mass wedding in South America has caught the attention of the world. A group of women in Lima, Peru decided to get married to trees, yes plants.

The unusual mass wedding in Peru was just like typical weddings but the ‘bridegrooms’ were rather different species of trees.

The strange ceremony entitled ‘marry a tree and save it’ was conduced by a tree activist Richard Torres who married Peruvian actresses to trees.

The wedding was conducted to make people aware they need to look after trees. The brides swore to look after their ‘groom’ until parted by death.

The brides also carried white bouquets of flowers to their wedding ceremony. After completing the ceremony the brides were allowed to kiss the groom on the trunk while guests threw tree leaves – in place of confetti – over the ‘happy couples’.
