National Council of Churches of Kenya states why they want Raila Odinga to be in government

National Council of Churches of Kenya (NCCK) has proposed an expansion of the Executive to accommodate Raila Odinga and two other deputies.

Speaking to the press, NCCK secretary general Canon Peter Karanja said that 2007 Raila/Kibaki styled coalition government should also be formed to unite Kenyans.

October 26th repeat presidential election left Kenya a deeply divided country. Uhuru Kenyatta was elected by a minority of Kenyans (7 million voters) while majority (12 million) boycotted the election.

The president performed dismally in Nasa strongholds of Coast, Nyanza, Western and Eastern. Majority of people in these regions have voiced their frustrations with the shambolic repeat election.

The deep ethnic divisions and violence that erupted is the reason why NCCK wants an all inclusive government that will accommodate all tribes.
