Kenyan football juggernaut, Victor Mugubi Wanyama seems to be on a meteoric rise to cult status. The sportsman grabbed headlines during the summer transfer season, with an £11 Million move to London side Tottenham, on a 5 year tenure.

It didn’t take long before fans were singing praises and chanting the lad’s name as his impressive showing over the weekend resulted in the giant slaying of an unbeaten Man City.

However, back here at home, it’s a case of missing the water as the well seems to be running dry. Victor Wanyama excused himself from international duty as the Harambee Stars geared up for international duties in Kinshasa. The Kenyan National Team captain played the whole 90 minutes during the premier league clash over the weekend and decided to rest himself rather than risk losing fitness.
